Japanese Language Program –N4 Level
Elementary–Intermediate Level | 2 Hours Daily | Post-N5 Course
Course Overview
The JLPT N4 program is designed for students who have already completed the N5 level and want to improve their Japanese to a practical, conversational level. This course strengthens grammar, expands vocabulary and kanji knowledge, and builds confidence in real-life communication while preparing students for the JLPT N4 examination.
What You Will Learn
Grammar (文法)
- Use of plain form (short form) for everyday speech
- Expressing ability: 〜ことができます
- Expressing experience: 〜たことがあります
- Plans and intentions: 〜つもりです / 〜予定です
- Giving and receiving: あげる / もらう / くれる
- Describing reasons: 〜ので / 〜から
- Trying something: 〜てみます
- Listing actions: 〜たり〜たりします
- Conditionals: 〜たら
- Comparison forms: AよりBのほうが〜
- Change of state: 〜ようになります
- While doing: 〜ながら
Vocabulary (ことば)
- Daily routine and lifestyle expressions
- Workplace, travel, and health-related terms
- Feelings, opinions, and simple explanations
- 1,500–2,000 commonly used words (including N5 level)
- Useful verbs, adjectives, and adverbs for daily conversation
Kanji (漢字)
- Mastery of 250–300 kanji (including N5 kanji)
- Common kanji related to work, school, nature, time, and transport
- Reading practice for emails, notices, and short passages
- Recognition of kanji in menus, signs, and forms
Listening (聴解)
- Understanding normal-speed, everyday conversations
- Listening to explanations, reasons, and short stories
- Grasping key points from workplace, school, and travel settings
- JLPT-style listening comprehension practice
Speaking & Conversation (会話)
- Talking about plans, habits, and personal experiences
- Asking and answering detailed questions
- Describing feelings, opinions, and reasons
- Practical conversations for public transport, hospitals, shops, and part-time jobs
- Topic-based speaking practice to build fluency
Reading (読解)
- Reading short essays and daily-life texts
- Understanding notices, schedules, advertisements, and simple stories
- Strengthening comprehension with JLPT-style reading exercises
Daily Class Structure (2 Hours Per Day)
- Grammar: 40 minutes
- Vocabulary: 20 minutes
- Kanji: 20 minutes
- Listening: 20 minutes
- Speaking/Conversation: 20 minutes
